Foreign Policy examines how one major party in one of the world’s oldest democracies effectively has ceased to exist, leaving the nation as a one-party state.

The official opposition party is disintegrating before our eyes. It is torn between socialists and moderates, middle-class “remain” supporters and working-class “leave” supporters, far-left activists and center-left MPs. …

It isn’t going to get any better, at least for those who worry about the consequences of an imperial premiership.
